Landslide death toll in Japan rises to four

The death toll at the site of a landslide in the Japanese city of Atami has risen to four, the local branch of Asahi TV reported, citing local authorities.

Around 10 am Saturday in the city of Atami, Shizuoka Prefecture, southwest of Tokyo, a massive landslide descended. Search and rescue operations are underway in the disaster area. They managed to save 23 people. The landslide demolished about 130 houses. According to the documents, 215 people lived in the affected area, so far more than half of them have been contacted, the authorities are trying to establish the whereabouts of 80 people.
