The White House is considering the possibility of a meeting between US President Joe Biden and Russian leader Vladimir Putin on the sidelines of the G20 summit in Rome. This was announced by the press secretary of the American department Jen Psaki at a briefing on October 7, which was broadcast on the YouTube channel of the United States administration.
“I have no predictions for you regarding bilateral meetings. At the moment, we are working on this on a daily basis, ”answered Psaki when asked about a possible meeting of the leaders of Russia and the United States.
Thus, she raised the issue of the G20 summit, which will be held in Rome for the 16th time.
Earlier it became known that Chinese President Xi Jinping will not be able to attend the G20 meeting, but agreed with Joe Biden to hold a virtual summit by the end of the year. The White House is confident that this conversation will be the key to resolving important and sometimes confrontational issues in relations between the United States and China.
